Who we help

For Tech Investors

Due diligence, MVP delivery and operator capital from a team that is both engineering partner and investor at Bedrock Platform, with a studio portfolio spanning pre-seed to Series A across the US, UK and EU.

Investors come to us for three things: an honest technical read on a target, fast engineering delivery for a portfolio company, and co-investment from a firm that has operated in the same markets for eleven years. Often in that order.

Technical due diligence by operators

Our due diligence is run by engineers who have built the class of system they are evaluating. We assess architecture, scalability headroom, cloud cost structure, security posture, delivery process and the team itself, then translate findings into risk, remediation cost and time.

The pattern recognition comes from production work, not checklists. We have operated real-time bidding infrastructure at 500,000 queries per second, run ARTF container deployments in advertising technology, scaled gaming backends, and built agentic software factories on AWS and GCP. When a pitch deck says the platform scales, we know which load test to ask for.

The partner-and-investor model

At Bedrock Platform we are both investor and engineering partner. We hold the CTO role, built the DSP end to end, and ship week over week: a containerized bidder running inside IndexCloud, Index Exchange's proprietary datacenter, with Aerospike and a VictoriaMetrics and Grafana observability stack, keeping auction responses under 100 ms at 500,000 queries per second.

That is the model we prefer. Capital plus hands-on time, in companies we would join ourselves, in markets where engineering excellence is a moat. The incentives are aligned by construction: our return depends on the same codebase we are accountable for.

Rapid MVP development for portfolio companies

When a portfolio company needs to prove a thesis before the next round, speed of validation matters more than architecture purity. Our track record on founder-stage builds:

6 weeks
No-code POC, Quick9 predecessor
6 months
Investor-ready serverless PoC, SocialLocation
5 weeks
ETL foundation vs 3-month estimate, Upscale AI
Months
MVP into customer pilots, StarOps

The Quick9 predecessor was a Glide and Google Sheets proof of concept that landed the client their first customer within three months, then graduated to a full Flutter app. SocialLocation got a fully serverless geo-contextual targeting PoC on AWS Lambda and DynamoDB that carried two investor roadshows. For Ingenimax we took StarOps from zero to a production-grade MVP in customer pilots using an AI-assisted, prototype-first delivery model, without the client building a platform team.

The same playbook works for CTOs inside your portfolio who need senior capacity fast rather than a hiring pipeline.

Appliscale Studio

Appliscale Studio is our operator-led venture studio: pre-seed to Series A, backing early-stage SaaS, AdTech and GameTech across the US, UK and EU. The portfolio spans seven companies across four sectors, including Bedrock Platform, Upscale AI, Harmonyze and Demoboost, and we are an LP at Erebor Capital, a Kraków-based fund focused purely on game development.

Every investment gets access to Appliscale's 100+ engineers and eleven years of AdTech and cloud architecture pattern recognition. Harmonyze, now the first AI performance coaching platform for franchise brands, raised a $2M pre-seed led by Bowery Capital.

Exits and outcomes

The engineering compounds into investor outcomes. A brand-creator content platform where we served as the sole development team, refactoring the codebase, moving REST to GraphQL and shipping a new bidding model, was acquired for $80 million within a year of our first major delivery. Harmonyze landed a leading global business on a product delivering 10x ROI.

We evaluate, build and back the same way: as operators. If you want a technical opinion you can underwrite, or an engineering team your portfolio company can ship with next month, start with a conversation.

Frequently asked questions

The questions engineering leaders ask first.

Clear answers before a discovery call.

What does your technical due diligence cover?

Architecture, scalability, cloud cost structure, security posture, delivery process and team assessment. We review the codebase, the infrastructure as deployed, and the CI/CD pipeline, then map findings to concrete risk and remediation cost. The engineers running the assessment have built and operated comparable systems in adtech, gaming, SaaS and AI.

Can you build an MVP for a portfolio company?

Yes. We have delivered a working no-code proof of concept in six weeks, an investor-ready serverless PoC on AWS in six months, and a production-grade MVP into customer pilots within months. We match the build approach to the validation question, from Glide and Google Sheets prototypes to Kubernetes-based production platforms.

Do you invest alongside engineering engagements?

In selected cases, yes. At Bedrock Platform we are both investor and engineering partner, holding the CTO role and building the DSP end to end. We invest through Appliscale Studio in companies we would join ourselves, in markets where engineering excellence is a moat.

What is Appliscale Studio?

Appliscale Studio is our operator-led investment vertical. It backs early-stage SaaS, AdTech and GameTech companies from pre-seed to Series A, pairing capital with hands-on engineering from Appliscale's 100+ specialists. The portfolio currently spans seven companies across four sectors in the US, UK and EU, and we are an LP at Erebor Capital, a Kraków-based game development fund.

What stage companies do you work with?

For investments, pre-seed to Series A. For engineering engagements, any stage: we have validated founder-stage ideas with six-week proofs of concept, taken over as sole development team for growth-stage platforms, and run infrastructure for companies handling half a million queries per second in production.
