Challenge
Our client envisioned a new app to boost golf participation and engagement, targeting golfers and golf clubs. To validate the idea quickly without heavy investment in traditional development or extensive UI/UX design, they needed a functional Proof of Concept (POC) to showcase core features to potential customers, laying the groundwork for future development.
Solution
We worked closely with the client to map out the core functionality and high-level UI requirements on a Miro board, ensuring we captured the essential elements needed to validate the app concept. Our team of no-code experts then analysed the project requirements, evaluating platforms like Bubble, Softr, and Glide. After careful consideration, we recommended Glide for its user management features, ability to integrate multiple backend data sources, and its intuitive UI builder. Understanding the critical need for responsiveness and data accuracy, we tested backend data sources, including Airtable and Google Sheets, ultimately finding Google Sheets to provide the most reliable performance. Glide’s flexibility and efficiency enabled us to rapidly develop a polished POC that met all the client’s requirements.
Results
In just a few weeks, our team delivered a functional POC of the golf engagement app, featuring user management, game creation, player invitations, and in-app notifications. This POC enabled the client to demo the app to golf courses, gain feedback, and confirm market demand. This early validation allowed the client to secure their first customer within three months, positioning them for rapid growth and future development in Flutter, which our team also delivered. Client Feedback
As a founder with a new idea, it’s always nerve-wracking to invest heavily in something that still needs validation. Thankfully, with Appliscale’s expertise and the power of Glide, I was able to bring my concept to life in just a few weeks at a fraction of the cost. This low-code development approach allowed me to engage potential customers and gather invaluable feedback, enabling us to iterate and refine the product before fully committing to the complete development process.
