2025 wasn’t just another year at Appliscale – it was our tenth!

In an industry where "ten years" feels like a century, we spent the last 12 months growing, optimizing, and occasionally arguing over whose turn it was to buy the coffee. Instead of a corporate press release, we’ve rounded up 25 things that actually defined our year.

#1: 10 years of staying in business

We hit the big double-digit milestone. From a small group of enthusiasts to a decade-old engineering hub, we’ve survived tech bubbles, global shifts, and countless coffee machine breakdowns.

#2: 2,183 CVs in the inbox

Our recruitment team deserves a medal. We looked at over two thousand applications this year. The talent out there is incredible, and we’re lucky that so many people see Appliscale as their next move.

#3: 27 new faces in the crowd

From those thousands of applications, 27 people joined the team. They’ve brought new perspectives, new skills, and significantly increased our chances of winning a company pub quiz.

#4: 13 clients served

We worked with a baker's dozen of different organizations this year, ranging from massive global entities to specialized tech players.

#5: 9 active partnerships

We’re ending the year with nine ongoing partnerships. We prefer deep, long-term relationships over one-night stands, and these nine are the proof of that.

#6: 32 projects handled

Over the course of 2025, we managed 32 distinct projects. Some were migrations, some were building from scratch, and some were "save our ship" moments—but we handled them all.

#7: 10 fresh kick-offs

There’s nothing quite like the "Day 1" energy of a new project. We had ten of those this year, setting up new architectures and getting our hands dirty with fresh codebases.

#8: 5 new customers on the roster

While some were short-term consulting stints, we welcomed five new organizations into the Appliscale fold this year.

#9: ~$1.5M saved for our clients

We take FinOps seriously. By looking at infrastructure with a magnifying glass, we helped our clients keep an extra $1.5 million in their pockets instead of handing it over to cloud providers.

#10: $1.3M saved for one client

This was a big win. Through some deep optimization work, we managed to shave $1.3 million off the bill for a big gaming company. That’s a lot of skins.

#11: 1,312 days of on-call duty

While the world sleeps, someone at Appliscale is usually awake. We provided over 1,300 days of collective on-call coverage this year. It’s the invisible work that keeps the world running.

#12: 550 support tickets killed

We didn’t just "monitor" things; we actively fixed 550 issues that popped up in our customers' systems. Each ticket was a problem solved and a headache avoided.

#13: 3 internal AI agents (Arctus, Starops, Bedrock)

We didn't just "explore AI"—we built it. We developed three agentic tools to help with our own internal workflows. We liked them so much that we’re currently working on "productizing" them to share with the rest of the world soon.

#14: 1 AWS Advanced Tier Services Partner badge

We finally leveled up. Becoming an Advanced Tier partner isn't just about a logo; it’s proof that we actually know our way around a cloud console better than most.

#15: 15 international tech events

We didn't stay cooped up in the office. Our team traveled to 15 different events across the globe to see what the rest of the tech world was up to.

#16: 11 major conferences

From the bright lights of CES and MAU in Vegas to the AdTech focus of ATS London and the NYC IAB Tech Summit, we made sure the Appliscale hoodie was seen everywhere.

#17: 4 IT Corner breakfasts hosted

We love the Krakow tech scene. This year, we hosted five breakfasts for the IT Corner community, proving that the best technical discussions always happen over eggs and coffee.

#18: 74th place in the Krakow Business Run

This was a highlight for our runners. Out of 1,700 teams, we finished 74th. In a race decided by seconds, we proved that engineers can actually move pretty fast when there's a finish line involved.

#19: 48 knowledge-sharing sessions

We’re big on "Tech Talks." Nearly every week this year, someone from the team stood up to teach the rest of us something new, from niche Rust features to complex cloud architectures.

#20: 10+ company night-outs

We’re not just coworkers; we actually like hanging out. We had over ten official (and many more unofficial) night-outs this year to decompress and celebrate the wins.

#21: 1 3D printing workshop

For one day, we stopped printing code and started printing plastic. It was a great way to remind ourselves that building things in the physical world is just as frustrating—and rewarding—as software.

#22: 35% of the team are "Veterans"

Over a third of our team has been with Appliscale for 4 years or longer. In a world where people jump ship every 18 months, we’re proud that so many people choose to grow with us.

#23: 22 new AWS certifications

We didn't just rely on experience; we hit the books. Our team earned 22 certifications, keeping our "Advanced Partner" status well-earned.

#24: 64 hours of admin time saved

We hate manual time-logging as much as anyone else. So, we built our own internal tools to automate the boring stuff, reclaiming 64 hours of engineering time this year.

#25: 8 Piotrs (The Battle of the Names)

The data is in: if your name is Piotr, you have a high chance of working at Appliscale. With 8 Piotrs, they officially outnumber the 7 Michals and 7 Mateuszs. Sorry guys, better luck in 2026.

While 2025 was a landmark year for us – marking a decade of solving complex cloud challenges – we’re not spending much time looking in the rearview mirror. With our new AWS Advanced Tier status, a growing suite of internal AI tools ready to be shared with the world, and a team that’s stronger than ever, we’re ready for what’s next.

Whether it's optimizing infrastructure or building the next generation of agentic AI, we’re just getting started.

Thanks for being part of our journey. Onward to year 11!
