Challenge
Appliscale was engaged to help a leading European real estate group realize its vision of transforming the way consumers buy, sell, rent, or lend properties. The client's goal was to build a series of unified, scalable property web portals across major markets—France, Germany, and Belgium—while maintaining brand differentiation. This transformation required the creation of a white-label product framework that could be rapidly deployed and customized across multiple brands. Appliscale joined the initiative at a pivotal moment, supporting the client’s large-scale platform consolidation and modernization efforts.
Solution
Appliscale laid the groundwork for the white-label platform by designing a scalable and modular architecture built on cloud-native principles. We developed backend services and micro frontends deployed on AWS, leveraging infrastructure as code to ensure consistent and repeatable environments. The backend followed a serverless-first approach using AWS Fargate and AWS Lambda, enabling dynamic scaling and reduced operational overhead. To support the white-label model, backend services were designed to process data from various sources—including queuing systems, APIs, and data stores—and expose it seamlessly to multiple branded portals.
On the frontend, we implemented a micro frontend architecture using React and module federation, allowing independent teams to build and deploy features across different brands while maintaining consistent performance and user experience. To ensure robust monitoring and operational excellence, we used Datadog for end-to-end observability, including dashboards, alerts, and custom metrics tailored to both business and infrastructure needs. Infrastructure provisioning and networking were automated using Terraform, establishing a reliable foundation for scaling and continuous delivery.
Results
The successful delivery of the initial white-label products validated the client’s platform strategy, accelerated time to market, and established Appliscale as a trusted long-term technology partner. Our speed and quality of execution enabled the client to roll out new portals efficiently and respond to market needs with greater agility. Building on this success, our role expanded to critical business and technical areas including payments integration, communication platforms (phone and SMS), property listing services, agent tooling, and a frontend gateway for managing micro frontend deployments. Our contribution continues to shape the digital future of the client’s property platforms across Europe.
