Challenge
Spearad, a real-time holistic decisioning engine for automated ad insertion and content monetization, needed a high-availability, multi-region infrastructure capable of handling significant traffic spikes across various devices, including Addressable TV, OTT, and mobile platforms. As a startup with a small team, they also required a seamless CI/CD pipeline with automated versioning to support their developers and a comprehensive monitoring system to ensure system health and performance. Given the complexity of their system and the need for global scalability, they sought expert DevOps services to design, implement, and maintain a resilient infrastructure that could support their high-demand environment.
Solution
Appliscale embedded a dedicated DevOps expert into Spearad’s small team, taking full ownership of the design, implementation, and maintenance of the infrastructure. A multi-region AWS-based architecture was developed, utilizing latency-based routing to optimize global service delivery. A prescaling approach was introduced to manage autoscaling efficiently, ensuring the system could handle high-traffic spikes seamlessly. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) was leveraged for dynamic region management, allowing for flexible expansion while maintaining operational stability. Additionally, Appliscale designed a CI/CD pipeline with automatic versioning, streamlining deployments and improving development workflows. A comprehensive monitoring system was built using Grafana and Prometheus, providing real-time visibility into system performance and ensuring rapid issue resolution.
